La Herradura, just as its name suggests, is situated on a beautiful horseshoe shaped bay on the Costa Tropical coast. It is only an hour from Malaga airport.
La Herradura is a typical, unspoiled Spanish village/small town, with exceptional scenery. It has 2 kilometers of beach with many bars and restaurants, some of which have sun terraces looking out over the sea. The majority of sea front and surrounding streets are relatively flat and wheelchair friendly. The beaches should be easy to access with good car parking facilities right up to the sand.
The village has all the facilities you need for your holiday with a range of local shops, some selling handicraft items. Larger supermarkets can be found in Almuñecar, a town that is only a 10 minute drive away or which can be reached by the local bus service that is wheelchair friendly.
At the eastern end of La Herradura is the harbour of Marina del Este. The marina has a quiet beach, as well as parking if you wish to take a stroll round the harbour. There are several restaurants in the area where you may have a meal, with the calming sound of the boats lapping on the water in the background.
La Herrdura’s subtropical climate makes it an ideal village for a holiday. The views from the beach front accross to the mountains are stunning and show the wide differences in locations of the region.
La Herradura offers the opportunity to enjoy beautiful scenery, good average facilities and the chance to get to “real” Spanish holiday.
